John W. Kolberg

John is the Deputy Chief of Police of a suburban Chicago police department. Specializing in the technological aspects of law enforcement, he has used that technology to prosecute offenders and protect the public. John has worked in all aspects of law enforcement, and prescribes to the basic philosophy of Community Oriented Policing that citizen-police alliances are fundamental to deterring crime.

John is a graduate of Northwestern University's School of Police Staff & Command, as well as numerous other specialized schools and seminars covering a wide array of police topics. John has a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Lewis University in Chicago, and has recently completed certification as a Crime Analyst from the University of California-Riverside and California Department of Justice.

John serves as Webmaster and is a Contributing Editor to SafetyCops.com
